Application to Business Capabilities

application to business capability mapping

This mapper will link applications to capabilities with placeholder processes. If no process exists a placeholder process mapped to the root org Operations will be created.
Capabilities with multiple processes cannot be mapped to here and are locked (shown by lock symbol) use the Application to Process mapper.

Drag And Drop Application to map to a business capability

To map an application, select and hold an application from the list to drag and drop it to the corresponding capability.

App To Bus Cap Map 2

Applications mapped during the same session are highlighted. You can remove newly added applications by selecting the unlinked chain.

Mapping multiple applications in one session highlights each one that has been added in that session.

Applications to Business Processes

This mapper will link applications to processes in capabilities. If there is no box to drag to then no processes exist. This will create a direct mapping, if you want to add services then use the Application Editor.
To see any updates made in the Capability to Applications Panel, refresh the page.

Organisation selection when mapping applications to processes

In this drag and drop screen, after dropping an application, you will be prompted to select the Organisation(s) that uses the application to perform the process you are mapping it to.

Selecting Organisations when Mapping Applications to Processes

It is assumed that if you map more than one application in a single session, that it is the same organisation(s) that are using them, so your initial selection of Organisations is saved for each application you map to any process. As seen below, the second application mapped has the recently selected organisation, Acquisitions.

When mapping applications to processes, the organisations you select are stored for that session

Application Mapping

Disposition

You can use this bulk data capture to quickly map your application disposition, e.g. TIME.

dragging and dropping an application to Migrate for TIME disposition

As with the other bulk data capture options, newly mapped applications from a single session are highlighted.

Enumerations

The drag and drop dashboard now supports application enumerations so you can drag and drop any application to any enumeration.  Simply pick enumeration type you want to drag and then drag the applications across to that enumeration.
