Supported Browsers
With every release, our QA team tests using the following Web browsers:
- Google Chrome
- Microsoft Edge
- Apple Safari (macOS only)
We test the then-current release of the above browsers when we are testing a new release. Because Chrome / Edge auto-update, users will typically have that release of Chrome/Edge or newer. Due to the frequency of browser version updates, We do not include specific browser version numbers in the system requirements.
We do not support using Essential with Web browsers besides the above. For the above browsers, we test the latest Windows desktop and Macintosh versions. We perform limited testing for Essential using mobile browsers on tablets or smartphones, and we do not offer support for these devices. We aim to improve this over time.
If a new browser update occurs and causes a major functional incompatibility, we will fix it as soon as possible rather than waiting for the next release. If a browser update causes a cosmetic issue which does not affect functionality, we will address it in a future release.
Older Browsers
Just as we recommend keeping up with the latest version of Essential for the best experience, the browser vendors make the same recommendation about their software. Older browsers maybe able to access Essential but may not support all functionality or may not function at all. These browsers are not tested and we may decide not to address known issues. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure they have access to a modern browser running a suitable version.
