The Information and Data Layer of the Essential Meta Model is where elements concerning information and data are captured and managed. This tutorial introduces the Information Layer and gives an overview of the main constructs available for modelling both Information Architecture and Data Architecture.
This layer is very powerful and is arguably the most comprehensive layer in any of the enterprise architecture tools – this is purposely done to enable you to answer complex enterprise architecture-focused questions about your information and data architecture. This is not a data modelling tool in the traditional data modelling sense but is designed to enable modelling from an EA perspective.
