Hello,
I wanted to try the multi-user version of essential project, but following the guide I had some problems at point 14 Repository Database Configuration.
I wanted to know if there is a need for a real server for the essential DB or if I can simulate it on a sharepoint or on a local machine.
I would like to try to access from different terminals and see how EP handles these accesses.
Thanks in advance for your reply.
Have a good day.
Julian

Hi Julian,
You certainly don't require a separate physical machine for the database. You can quite comfortably run the multi-user stack on a single laptop. You'll need plenty of RAM in the machine but most modern computers have 8GB+.
We'd recommend running MySQL as the database as it's the most straightforward to configure and performs well with Essential.
Cheers
