Hello,
First of all, thank you for developing such an powerful and improving EA tool.
My question is about data integration. Essential Integration tab provides importing data from a well formatted xml data file. But we have some applications (such as SAP Finance, HP PPM etc) which we want to use their data in Essential (for storing application and project portfolio, reporting capex and opex expenses etc). So we need to create an integration process which is running periodically on database level (from app db to directly Essential db).
Is there any way for doing this?
Thank you for your help.

Hi,
The integrations we have configured have previously used the XML data file approach with a manual import. This has helped manage testing of data integrity.
It is possible to automate this via the Protege API which you can find on the Protege website. We have done similar things whilst developing the Essential Import Utility
http://protege.stanford.edu/doc/dev.html
We'd suggest that Essential be a consumer of the data rather than trying to round-trip in order to reduce the complexity of the integration and to maintain the 'single source of truth' paradigm.
We'd be happy to discuss any development work you require to support this requirement. You can get in touch via the Services option at the top of the page.
