Newbie here. I am trying to install Essential on a server for multiple users. I am using MySQL as the database. When I follow the step in the instructions to show the Collaboration Panel and select
"Create ShAO stored in a database (if new project please save first)"
I enter the database information, select "OK" and get the following error screen message:
"Could not find or create the changes and annotations
ontology (ChAO), or attached ChAO is invalid.
The collaboration panel will not work in this session."
When I check MySQL, the table has been created. I don't know what to do.
Trouble installing multi-user server

Hi,
Before I take the question to the development team I'd just like to check are using the Collaboration features a specific requirement you're looking to use?
They're not required for multi-user mode and are an optional add-on that come with some performance and management caveats
Thanks
Neil

I was able to install successfully. I had to use an older version of Java to enable RMI.

Thanks for posting back with the solution.
We'd be really interested to know which version of Java didn't work and which version you ended up using.
Thanks again
Jonathan

I went back to JRE 6u26. I read somewhere in your docs that this was required for Java RMI to work properly for Essential server installations. It worked.
