Re: Business Process Model - Activity not showing

Keith, Apologies for the delay. The current flow diagram is quite unforgiving, we're going to release a new one that looks like the one in the demo. We're testing today and will get it uploaded here (hopefully) in the next day or so. That is much less stringent in the way it renders and will help us...

Can you let me know what classes you are populating for this view?

Thanks

German Language Pack

We have a German language pack almost ready for release, however, we'd like to validate some of the language. If you are a native German speaker and are willing to do a check of the grammar and meanings, could you contact us please.

Thanks

Re: Business Capability Summary View Issue From Parent Bus.

Hi,

Sorry, this is a view bug. It's treating the two parents as a single instance, which is wrong. If you view the two (or more) parent capabilities from the capability catalogue then they appear correctly.

I've logged this in the bug list to fix.

Re: Duplicate items in Catalogue list

Hi Joseph, The technical team will have a look when they get a chance, in the meantime. Can you check that you've not got all the reports switched on. Navigate to EA_Class > EA_Support > Essential_Viewer > Report then check that the enabled on homepage box isn't ticked for every report. One reason c...

Re: Viewer Rendering issues

Hi Joseph, Glad you are up and running now. Hints and tips...the main thing is focus on one area where there is some value to be gained. Work out at the start what questions you are going to answer for your stakeholder and what view(s) you will use in Essential in order to really help them. Then foc...

Re: Viewer Rendering issues

Hi Joe, That's usually a sign that tomcat isn't running. If you just type in Localhost:(whatever your port number is) into the browser do you see the Tomcat successfully installed screen? If you don't see the page then you need to start tomcat and try republishing. If you do see it then let us know ...

Re: Visualize all Application Dependencies

Hi Thomas,

Colin may have a different method, but to see how we do it have a look at the People Project Network xsl as that view combines the data in Essential with a visualisation.

Re: Visualize all Application Dependencies

Hi Thomas,

Sorry, that view isn't an out-of-the-box view, you'd need to develop the XSL yourself to render it or engage with our consultancy services to develop it for you.

Regards

Re: Architectures loosing names

Thomas,

If you scroll down below the graphical image you'll see a field further down called 'Static Architecture of Application Provider'. Select your App Provider there.

Re: Application existence, definition (vs Application Servic

This is an oversight on our part. The 'Application' in the diagram should be Application Family.

When we refer to application across the site we are meaning Application Provider and it's sub-classes

Re: Publishing stops

Hi Thomas,

This is usually caused by a memory issue. Have you checked the blog Neil wrote?

http://www.enterprise-architecture.org/ ... essential/

If that doesn't help then please post again.

Re: "View Manuals" Link missing in Viewer

Hi Thomas, The view manuals were in Version 4 but have been taken out of Version 5, however, you will find them if you look in [YOUR SERVER]/[YOUR REPOSITORY NAME]/report?XML=reportXML.xml&XSL=view_manual/view_manual_catalogue.xsl. Note that the manual is not optimised for the viewer, nor can we...
