A number of our Universities and Higher Learning Institutions are getting together to form an Essential University User Group, to share ideas and best practise about Essential and EA in general. If you are a university or higher education organisation using Essential and would be interested in joining, please complete the contact form stating that you would like to become a member and we will put you in touch with the group - https://www.enterprise-architecture.org/contact.php

I don't know if they'll be minuting their discussions in any fashion, but i wonder if some of the discussion would be of benefit across to users from other industries. Could you find out what they might be willing to share?

Hi Gena,
I can't comment about the group as I'm not part of it.
However two pointers could help :
Are you aware of the "starter capability model" here (based on a previous version of the UCISA UK cap. model) :
https://enterprise-architecture.org/dupcentral.php
If you are in Europe, the Eunis Enterprise Architecture SIG, while not using Essential tooling, may be of some interest:
https://www.eunis.org/task-forces/enter ... hitecture/
Regards,
Jean-Marie.

Thanks Jean-Marie,
You seem to be familar with the sector yourself
Yes - actually it was that model that lead me to Essential Just hoping now that someone will submit a HERM model as well…
And thanks for mentioning the EUNIS SIG, actually I'm part of that group.

We are looking to re-start a Higher Education User Group, and our first call is on 1/24. The initial facilitators will be me, Henry Pruitt from New York University and Karen Moore, from the University of Sydney.
The goal of the group is to foster sharing and collaboration among the higher education population using the tool, and we welcome your participation.
The company behind the Essential Project is being very responsive, and it appears that they are very interested in supporting the higher education community.
Hope to see you at an upcoming meeting... looking to schedule them monthly, and will post the next one in advance!
