Can we perform rationalisation analysis (aka related views) with out populating Business Process / Physical Process fields.

Since those are separately maintained by another tool.

Let us say those objects need to be populated to make the related views working, can we workaround by populating values copying from for example app svc or bus cap ? Since it is fine to be in the background (and we customize the views, not to display those values).

Is there any FAQ that i can visit on the modelling aspect, best practices etc.

You do need a process, however, we do say if you don't have this then you can just create placeholders.

As you say, you could use the bus cap or the application service. We usually use the bus cap - to do this we either reverse the lowest level capability name or add the word process to the end of the capability name. It won't break anything, and you can go back and replace them if/when you do get the information on the processes
