TOGAF Metamodel

Does anyone made some customization on Essential MetaModel to conceive the TOGAF metamodel concepts and relationships? Or does anyone made, from scratch, a ontology inside Protege that maps TOGAF metamodel?

Thank you! :?:

The Essential Project tools and the Essential Meta Model are framework independent and are to be used in support of any architecture framework, including TOGAF, Zachman, DoDAF, MoDAF and so on.

In our experience many people create their own specific methodology that is based on or derived from a framework such as TOGAF and we also want to be able to easily support such organisations.

We have developed the Essential Meta Model over a number of years to provide a wide range of detailed meta classes and relationships. Each of these has specific semantics and in contrast to the rather more 'documentation-oriented' meta models of many frameworks, it is this detail and the strong semantics that is needed in order to provide the platform for architecture decision support (in addition to documentation!) that we have in Essential Architecture Manager.

The Essential Meta Model takes a different approach to the TOGAF 'meta model' and so rather than explicitly map the meta models or explicitly include TOGAF meta model constructs, our approach is to produce Views (in Essential Viewer) that are relevant to phases of the TOGAF methodology and which can be presented using TOGAF terminology, which we find works well.

If there are any specific things in the TOGAF meta model that you need and that you cannot find in the Essential Meta Model, please let us know!
