We do not currently support the definition of default values for Info/Data Object/Representation Attributes. So far, this has not been a requirement that we have come across, as our focus has mainly been on the strategy and architecture of the organisation and structure of enterprise data rather than the operational management of data (e.g. Master Data Management). If you really feel you have a need for this, then we would recommend adding a new slots to the "Data_Representation_Attribute" and/or "Data_Representation_Attribute" classes, which would be of type String (e.g. "info_rep_att_default_value", "data_rep_att_default_value").

I do not feel it would be appropriate to define default values against Info/Data Object Attributes as I can imagine scenarios where default values may vary across representations of the same object.

Thanks,

Hi Jason.

Thank you for the answer.

I am wondering if Default value may be an interesting tool in other contexts as well, such as business or Application interaction or information or data mapping. In such contexts, it could be a way to indicate a rule of interpretation of the absence of value. What do you think about it?

Best regards.
