Hi

I am using a MAC running Sierra.

I Installed all the pre-requisites including Protege 5.x

I get error while installing Essential Arch.

First it complains that the protege folder is wrong or type.

I circumvented the above by selecting tomcat first and setting the Protege folder later. it still gives an error, but the next button is highlighted but I am able to proceed.

But then I get an error saying unable to copy protege.properties.

Not sure how I can move forward with install.

Appreciate any guidance.

Hi Venkat,

Thanks for posting.

Firstly, Essential Architecture Manager will not work with Protege 5.x. Rather you should use Protege 3.5 (which you can download from here http://protege.stanford.edu/download/pr ... nstallers/)

As an aside, Protege 4.x+ is a different tool to Protege 3.x. Version 3.5. is the current, most up-to-date version of this.

The installer is looking for particular, version 3.5 components to help confirm that you are installing our plugins into the correct location, hence the errors that it is reporting with Protege 5.

On the Mac, take care when selecting the target folders. Choose your target folder from the list with a single click and then move on to the next step. If you double-click on the target folder, the installer moves into that folder but forces you to select something in THAT folder (which won’t be correct).

For the Essential Plugins for Protege, this will be /Applications/Protege_3.5
For Tomcat, this will be something like /Applications/Tomcat_8/webapps

Do let me know how you get on with this and if you need any further help

Regards
