The Stand Alone installation guide (URL at
http://www.enterprise-architecture.org/ ... tand-alone) has a link to the a
"manual installation guide" at
http://www.enterprise-architecture.org/ ... ne-install

However this page appears to be an out of date version of the stand alone install guide, and it also mentions a Zip file instead of a Jar file: essential_architecture_manager.zip

Is there a "manual installation guide" with more detailed instructions than the stand alone installation guide?

Hi,

The Manual Installation Guide was prepared for an earlier version of Essential when we used to distribute a ZIP rather than an installer. We left it there for legacy reasons. The most appropriate guide is the multi-user installation guide which should contain all the information your would require.

Is there something about the installer and/or guide than isn't working for you?

Thanks

I think the problem is that the installation instructions are somewhat confusing. The standalone installation guide talks about troubleshooting the installation, and then refers to what it says is the manual installation guide.

However when going to this page, it is not clear that the page is for an old version of Essential. It is also confusing when the "manual installation guide" refers to a Zip file, when the installation file is in fact a Jar file and not a Zip file.

I eventually got my installation to work, but only after realising that the "manual installation guide" was out of date. (An earlier forum posting had mentioned confusion about the mention of a Zip file in the installation.)
