Hi all,
Have you ever defined maturity level for a capability in Protege? either business or application.
I can't find where to define a maturity level for a capability. Please help.

Thank you,
Tuan

Hi Tuan,

Thanks for your post.

We have done some work with clients specifically on maturity of the EA processes. However, this approach evolved into a generic capability to capture performance measurements against any element in the repository.

What this means is that you can define a performance measure ‘Maturity Level’, as a new instance of Service Quality and then define Service Quality Values for each value on your maturity scale. Then, using the ‘Performance Measures’ slot, you can capture the maturity performance measures against the Business elements (using Business Service Quality Values) and application elements (using Application Service Quality Values) and so on.

Each specific maturity level for an instance is managed in the Performance Measure instances, under Performance Management in the Essential Meta Model. This means that each Service Quality and corresponding Service Quality Values can be re-used (they don’t have to be!).

There are no Views in the out of the box pack that provide insights into these maturity levels but it’s relatively easy to add these maturity items to things like summary views. Outside the out-of-the-box set, we have developed things like dashboards to provide views of maturity across various aspects of the architecture.
