I have installed the latest software from the Essential Project, everything works fine, including the essential viewer, but when I tried the Import Utility to import the Example_Import_Spreadsheet, though it seems that it has completed the import, but in the end it generates an ZK java.lang.nullPointerException

Hi,

Two things to check off...

1. Have you tried restarting Tomcat and re-doing the import?
2. What memory allocation do you have for the Tomcat install?

We recommend at least 1.5GB memory allocated to the Tomcat install running the Import Utility. Even better would be to run the Import Utility in a second Tomcat configured for a different port (e.g. 9080). This is often the way we configure the IU for our clients and has proven the most stable way to run the tool.

Thanks

Neil

We've also just released a new beta version of the Import Utility which resolves lots of bugs like this.

You can download it as part of the version 4.3 installer and just select the Import Utility package.
