Publish project

When I try to publish my project file to the web server, I get an "Exception: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError" and publish process hangs @ 44% forever.
I went thru all memory settings. It sat at 44% all weekend.

Hi,

Can you tell us what you set the memory to, e.g. 2GB?
Which platform are you running on (Windows 10, Mac, etc.)?
If on Windows, are any exceptions reported in the associated console window of Protege (a Windows command-prompt window)?

Thanks

Jonathan

Thanks for getting back to us.

2GB should be OK but I note that you are running in Multi-user mode.

In addition to the server needing to be configured to at least 2GB for its own Java environment, the user machine - e.g. your laptop - will also need to have 2GB of memory allocated to Java in order to perform the publish process.

This article describes how to configure the memory for these environments - the process is the same for the server as it is for the local workstation/laptop.

If you are still experiencing problems with out-of-memory exceptions (which will stall the publish process!), increase the 2GB, e.g. to 3GB
